It depends on the specific changes in society and the reasons behind them. Some changes may be beneficial and lead to progress, while others may be harmful or unjust. It is important to critically evaluate changes and consider the potential consequences before deciding whether to resist or support them. Additionally, it is also important to consider the different perspectives of those who may be impacted by the changes.

Accepting change can be challenging, but there are several strategies that can help. One approach is to focus on the benefits of the change and to remind yourself that change can bring new opportunities and growth. It can be helpful to also remind yourself that change is a natural part of life and that everyone goes through it. Practicing mindfulness and being present in the moment can also help with acceptance.

The most important thing to remember is that the only change you should really care about is one that impacts you directly. There have been many changes in American culture in the last century. We abolished Jim Crow, we allowed same sex marriage, we legalized cannabis in many states and we expect much more accountability from law enforcement officers now.

It’s pretty clear that all of those changes made society better. Yet many people opposed the change, just because it was change. To become a better society we need to accept people changing their own lives for the better, so long as they do not do so at our expense.
